Carpet Republic Logo Design
Logo design & identity work for a high-end brand called Carpet Republic, a subsidiary of Superior Floor Coverings Pty Ltd in Glebe, Sydney.
Concept One
Inspired from the weaver’s knot and the stylised art of Florence Broadhurst (one of the textile artists Carpet Republic represents), this concept combines tradition and a modern approach.
The weaver’s knot has been used for centuries in the textile industry and is remarkable in that it doesn’t come lose however much you pull. As such, it has come to symbolise quality, sturdiness, reliability. In this rendition that incorporates the “c” of Carpet republic and a very stylised lowercase “r”, the weaver’s knot undergoes a modern transformation and marries up tradition and a very contemporary feel.

Concept Two
Based on coat of arms imagery and incorporating the store’s initials – C and R – this concept is playing on the traditional note of quality, to be expected from a firm that supplies the Axminster carpets used at Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace, as well as a variety of hand-made and designer products from around the world.
