Beautiful portraits: Candice Wouters

I initially meant to do a post on portraits; and then I got stuck on Candice Wouters, a South African born photographer now living in London, whose work I stumbled upon while browsing for something or the other on Flickr. It was a bit inconvenient that her photos come in fairly small sizes, but even so I wanted to feature her here – her and her portraiture photography so elegiac and elegant, with a touch of the amateur and of the dreamer about it. I even fancy a lomography look hovering about in the greenish tints. Some of the photos (lots of them actually) are self-portraits – and yet it is amazing how it becomes difficult to see the same person in them, as Candice always shoots a story, not a subject.
